QUESTION IS WHETHER INDIA'S MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISE (MSME) SECTOR EVER GROWS UP? MANY HAVE VC INDEPENDENT BUSINESS MODELS
by Admin User - Saturday, 16 October 2021, 10:32 PM

By: M.S.Yatnatti Editor and Video Journalist Bengaluru : Units that begin their lives in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector must want to grow up. At the same time, take a look at this paradox. In terms of the number of units, it is estimated that 18.7% more have been added to the MSME sector . The number of employees in them too has shot up. But as unregistered micro units are roughly 13 times the number of registered ones, the average employment per enterprise is just about three persons, maybe lower. A higher admission rate, all right, but a persistently poor pass out grade! Obviously nobody wants to leave school, or come out of their baby clothes.Instead of numbers rising in the higher classes, such as in the medium and small sector component, it is the micro industries that keep burgeoning and yet contributing so little to the economy. In addition, there is hardly any transit from unregistered to registered units either. Nor is it that they are falling sick routinely as the incidence of ailing units in MSMEs came down quite impressively in the last decade or so.

Passion and focus on the products is the central to business success for most of entrepreneurs . “Startups must figure out unit economics and prove the model at a small scale before considering VC funding should have a simple formula when in doubt, bootstrap and your customers are best investors .“ Some time as venture capitalists becomes vulture capitalists early stage entrepreneurs and those looking to do something on their own are likely to turn wary. But anybody who studies entrepreneurship will likely find that passion and patience have inevitably trumped money in determining the success of a venture .Money is often a catalyst. But there are also some who think venture funding is a bane and not boon , that ultimately, success is more about you and the problem you are trying to solve through your venture by bootstrapping . Few entrepreneurs knew only two ways to fund a business put their own money or borrow from the bank as you build a product and make it became profitable .Trump can be trumped after all he is a businessman and his decision can be taken as blessing in disguise . Indian IT companies have visa independent global delivery model where it reduced the total effort onsite (at the client location) in a project from about 30% on an average to just 10%. “And this 10% will be delivered by local hires. Indian IT is also likely to find significant support among its US customers. The Indian software industry, has largely been responsible for building as well as maintaining the information infrastructure of most large US corporations. It plays a very critical role in the success of US corporations, that tampering with it wouldn't be easy.IT companies conducted several pilots and all of them were very successful, "The global downturn and “Buy American and hire American” theory has brought along with it new opportunities. It is for the industry to identify the opportunities and move ahead," Indian IT companies can hire American and sell American and make killing profits in America as American IT companies hire Indian and sell Indian and make killing profits in India . “Make in India American products” "The Indian industry will continue to do well if they learn that there are no easy pickings any longer." And that's true of all companies, irrespective of their size..The US was teaching all countries Globalization and now suddenly talking localization “Buy American and hire American”. Investors from around the world, including in the City of London, will be listening carefully for how America's India need to remember late Dewang Mehta, the chief lobbyist for India's fledgling software services industry, carried off both with aplomb, convincing businesses that at the stroke of midnight of the new millennium, their computer systems would crash because old programs measured years in two digits instead of four. The solution, he persuaded them, was to let a horde of techies from Bangalore and Hyderabad go through each line of code and fix the Y2K bug.

“BBMP AC RECRUITMENTS” DID NOT TAKE ANY ACTION AS POURAKARMIKAS WERE NOT MADE PERMANENT WITH SPECIAL RECRUITMENT RULES
by Admin User - Friday, 15 October 2021, 10:48 PM

By: M.S.Yatnatti: Editor and Video Journalist Bengaluru: Labour commissioner and department did not take any action on BBMP . About 32652 “Pourakarmikas (Sanitation workers)) were not made permanent who are on the biometric rolls of BBMP since 01-01-2018 for about two years despite labour department gave them two years time to regularize their services within two years with special recruitment rules which was one of the condition prescribed by labour department while giving exemption from labour Act. The two years’ time given is coming to an end on 27-10-2019 and BBMP need to regularise at one go all 32563 “Pourakarmikas (Sanitation workers). Instead of regularizing and recruiting 32652 pourakarmikas as per orders 3300 were removed and advertisement issued for recruitment of only 4000 pourakarmikas instead of 32652 pourakarmikas and discrimintary orders were issued on 01-08-2019 to place permananat pourakarmikas who are not on biometric attendance to supervise contract pourakarmikas who are on Biometric attendance.Request is made to withdraw order dated 01-08-2019 and 11-10-2019 by JC West.About 32652 “Pourakarmikas (Sanitation workers)) were not made permanent who are on the biometric rolls of BBMP since 01-01-2018 about two years despite labour department gave them two years time to regularize their services within two years with special recruitment rules which was one of the condition prescribed by labour department while giving exemption from labour Act as per Government order UDD 126 BMS 2016 Bengaluru dated 07-08-2017 and Labour Department order Notification LD 92 LDWA 2017 Bengaluru dated 27-10-2017 and Commissioner BBMP Order dated 21-12-2017 to directly appoint them on BBMP rolls on contract basis instead BBMP removed 3300 “Pourakarmikas (Sanitation workers) without any notice and without any proof stating that they did not have two years of prior service and issued an advertisement number PR/53& 54 2015-16 Dated 27-08-2019 for recruitment of 4000 “Pourakarmikas (Sanitation workers) instead of regularizing 32652 “Pourakarmikas (Sanitation workers) as per Government order at the scale of Rs 9600-14550 for “Pourakarmikas (Sanitation workers). The two years’ time given is coming to an end on 27-10-2019 and BBMP need to regularise at one go all 32563 “Pourakarmikas (Sanitation workers) as they are on BBMP Rolls .Seeking to end years of exploitation by contractors, the State government has decided to absorb outsourced pourakarmikas working for various urban local bodies in the State. The State Cabinet, which met on May 4, has decided to absorb all the contract pourakarmikas in city corporations, city municipal councils, town municipal councils and town panchayats by April 2017, virtually drawing curtains on the contract system of garbage clearance across the State. the Cabinet has also decided to ensure the payment of salaries to the contract pourakarmikas directly from urban local bodies till they are absorbed by the government. “There were complaints that contractors were not giving their full salary and were not paying their Provident Fund (PF) and Employee State Insurance (ESI) dues”.

THE INFORMATION DEPARTMENT SHOULD NOT SHUT THE DOORS OF VIDHAN SOUDHA TO “WEB PORTALS EDITORS” AND“ONLINE JOURNALISTS”
by Admin User - Thursday, 14 October 2021, 11:38 PM

By: M.S.Yatnatti: Editor and Video Journalist Bengaluru: The information department need to accredit web portals and permit entry to Vidhan Soudha Bengaluru to online journalist and web journalist of Daily News Web Portals despite they come in electronic media and 10 passes each need to be given to each electronic media portal and these web portals fulfills 2009 media accreditation rules and Vidhan Soudha Pass issuing rules. The director of information cannot refused to issue passes to online journalist and web journalists .Vidhan soudha is public building and denial of issue of passes means department does not want to disseminate information to public which is prime duty of information of department. The director information department issues passes only to print media and this director does not want to encourage digital transformation of information department. Daily news portals are within the definition of “electronic media” and they are running Daily media portals since several years and months and entire content is available on the web portals. As per rules and policy of Information department 10 Vidhan Soudha passes can be made available to each “electronic media” online journalist or web journalist .In the definition of “electronic media” Broadcast or storage media that take advantage of electronic technology. They may include television, radio, Internet, fax, CD-ROMs, DVD, and any other medium that requires electricity or digital encoding of information. The term 'electronic media' is often used in contrast with print media.

Department of Information and Public Relations, Karnataka miserably failed to use digital media or electronic media or internet web portals or web journalist or online journalist. Department of Information and Public Relations is not using and encouraging web portals or web journalist or online journalist for the purpose of dissemination of information. Department of Information and Public Relations must understand that it will loose relevance if it does not go with digital transformation. Digital transformation is the only way to go forward. Whether it is small medium or large enterprise or even government there is no escaping digital transformation. Smart phones and better connectivity desktop and laptops and tablets have changed the way of citizen’s lives .The electronic media revolution has renewed debate about print media's relevance. In reality, both communication forms have advantages and disadvantages. Print media reporters may cover subjects with greater depth than writers of electronic media. However, electronic media's ability to break news at lightning speeds is cited as a key factor for the continuing decline of print media readership. Broadcast or internet media that take advantage of electronic Technology. They may include web television, web radio, Internet Portals , CD-ROMs, DVD, and any other medium that requires electricity or digital encoding of information. The term 'electronic media' is often used in contrast with print media.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE, TURNOVER LIMITS EARNEST MONEY DEPOSITS SOURCING POLICIES IMPEDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDIAN SMALL IT COMPANIES AND STARTUPS
by Admin User - Wednesday, 13 October 2021, 12:25 PM

By: M.S.Yatnatti: Editor and Video Journalist Bengaluru: Let Government provide opportunities to all companies whether startup or small or Big .Digital transformation that the Indian Government has opened up on technology automation front both budget and complexities of adoption and great news for IT industry and its stakeholders. But it is trauma of IT Industry that Government tenders are more towards vendors and principals and gives little opportunities to partners and they get eliminated in first stage itself and predetermined companies only get tenders and also payment cycle is so designed that only vendors with deeper pocket and working capital coming from their overseas parent companies . it is time to think how Indian SMEs and start up take up Government tenders .Reportedly almost all states and Union territories are showing a friendlier approach to startups extending incubation facilities, facilitating early-stage funding, or even formulating policies for them. However, sourcing from these startups is still only on paper and not in practice. Requirements like prior experience, turnover limits to engage startups, earnest money deposits and other “archaic” sourcing policies impede opportunities for these new generation businesses. An analysis of Startup India’s report that ranks states shows that the 27 states and 3 Union territories assessed fell short when it comes to providing an equal platform for startups vis-à-vis experienced companies in public procurement.“Overall, performance of majority states is below average in this (ease of procurement) pillar as 26 states scored between 0% to 25% of the maximum marks,” the report said. The national average score under this particular criterion was 1.27 out of 14 marks, with performance of majority states defined as ‘below average’.“While at the policy level exemptions have been declared for startups in many of these aspects, the procedures followed by the states are sometimes not in alignment with the Centre,”. “It would be helpful to introduce easier bid eligibility, especially in the case of newer technologies like IOT and smart grids, which would aid infrastructure development,”. “Yes, there is more to be done to move away from age-old tendering procedures, but the open API policy under Digital India is a huge boon for tech entrepreneurs,” noted an expert

EMPLOYEES ARE SHORT-TERM ASSETS THEY IN TURN, HAVE REINVENTED THEMSELVES AS “MARKETABLE GOODS” “EVERY EMPLOYEE IS AN ENTREPRENEUR TODAY”
by Admin User - Tuesday, 12 October 2021, 05:03 PM

By: M.S.Yatnatti: Editor and Video Journalist Bengaluru: Every employee is an entrepreneur today. Companies have started treating employees as short-term assets, and they, in turn, have they reinvented themselves as marketable goods, always ready to quit, always on the look-out for the next good opportunity. So, every person should think of herself as a business — Me, Inc — and to survive this new world of work, the CEO of Me, Inc the employee must be a quitter, The idea of work has changed so much in the last 20 years that employees are looking to quit from the moment they start at a job. Experts state that Governments should not provide welfare, but should exist only to organize markets, ensure they function well, and promote competition and innovation. If the company wasn’t making commitments, employees weren’t willing to pledge loyalty. It was sensible for a person to pick a job with an eye on learning skills that could be used in future in another company. In short, a job is a good job if it will lead to another job with another company. “People should view themselves as a business a bundle of skills, assets, qualities, experiences and relationships to be managed and continually enhanced,”. Entrepreneurs need to learn how to sell online. The must know how to validate their products. A lot of entrepreneurs need to learn how to get their story out there. Customers need to know what is unique about the product. Branding thier product is important how to put the product in front of the right customer, how to price it and handle promotion are very important. Number one is always finding demand. Product strategy has to be aligned with customer demand. B2C has more opportunity.Be your own boss .Create a startup and be your own boss . Reportedly the study, the first of its kind, was conducted by researchers at the University of Rochester. They found that over the last 15 years, 153 artificial intelligence professors in North American universities left their posts for industry. Another 68 moved into industry while retaining part-time roles with their universities. From 2004 to 2009, 26 university professors moved into industry. In 2018 alone, 41 professors made the move. The exponential rise in departures over the last decade and a half indicates that the trend will continue. The talent shift could accelerate the development of artificial intelligence inside tech giants like Google, Microsoft, Amazon and Apple .But at the university’s the professors left behind, graduating students were less likely to create new AI companies. When they did, they attracted smaller amounts of funding, according to the study. The effect was most pronounced in the field of “deep learning,” a technology that has become a crucial part of new AI systems. In time, the brain drain from academia could hamper innovation and growth across the economy, the study argued. “The knowledge transfer to students is lost, and because of that, so is innovation,”

LET THE BMTC “TRAFFIC POLICE” RESTORE “HISTORIC DOUBLE ROAD” AS ONE WAY TRAFFIC END TO END & “RESOLVE CONGESTION PROBLEMS”
by Admin User - Saturday, 9 October 2021, 04:03 PM

By : M.S.Yatnatti: Editor and Video Journalist Bangalore : It is pertinent to note that , BMTC TTMC Shanthinagar, has broken the road divider for convenience and not safety of people .No need of outgoing and incoming both busses necessarily enter the bus station and take passengers .In TTMC Vijayanager and TTMC Kengeri outgoing and incoming both busses do not enter the bus station .When Traffic police has not allowed breaking of road divider in front of TTMC Kengeri then why it has allowed breaking road divider in KH Road after construction of TTMC BMTC Building shanthinagar .Historically double road (K H. Road ) is Bangalore probably first one way traffic regulated double road and traffic police should not break it in between and artificially create traffic congestion and create chaos in the traffic regulation. This road divider was broken after construction of TTMC BMTC Building shanthinagar .Traffic police should enforce two way systems without any breaks in between and should not be lenient on rules and regulations .They must enforce law without favor and fear. There cannot be one law for BMTC and other law for public. No roads should be broken in between circles and signals .

Two way traffic should be properly regulated .The Road divider on Shantinagar double road just before and opposite TTMC BMTC Building shanthinagar (B.M.T.C. Bus Stand Complex, Double Road,Next Big Bazar,Shanthinagar )and opposite Rivoli Hotel and Karnataka emporium is being broken and opened and hindering the free flow of traffic at busy K.H Road .Several police officers waste their time in managing huge traffic .This opening is not only used by two wheelers and BMTC busses dangerously compromising the safety of fellow commuters. Besides, Two wheelers and BMTC busses and heavy vehicles come from all directions and create disgusting, chaotic, unsafe traffic .I have observed that these foolish violators also carry children with them and cross zigzag . Traffic flow from all sides creating traffic jam on all sides and Traffic goes erratically. Request is made to traffic police to permanently close the divider and ensure free traffic flow on double road until lalbagh circle .Sector Police officers need to be informed for action, permanently close the divider to ensure free traffic flow. https://www.facebook.com/BangaloreTrafficPolice many people have posted message on face book of traffic police asking them to close the divider which is important to save lives of citizens . https://www.facebook.com/BangaloreTrafficPolice/posts/616827205049657?stream_ref=5. Bangalore Traffic Police website is at this URL http://www.bangaloretrafficpolice.gov.in/. About 54 lakhs Vehicular movement daily in the Bangalore central business district (CBD) is set to be a crawl in 2020: 5 km per hour to be precise, if authorities fail to address growing traffic congestion in the city just in time . Better public transport and Staggered office timings and school college’s timings and E-Government and online transactions will definitely reduce the traffic congestion. Bangalore should be allowed to become city which never sleep .Allow all commercial establishment to work 24/7 in three shifts. The traffic congestion on roads will automatically get resolved and entire work and traffic load get evenly distributed and road density get divided between day and night .

LEARN “OPEN SOURCE” AND WORK ON COMMERCIALLY USING PROPRIETARY PROGRAMS FOR YOUR COMMERCIALWORKS AS “DEBIAN” COMES WITH OVER 50,000 PACKAGES”
by Admin User - Friday, 8 October 2021, 11:21 PM

By: M.S.Yatnatti: Editor and Video Journalist Bengaluru: According to reports Proprietary software program are costly and expensive .Very often a single –copy license can cost much more than what you paid for your computer like Adobe Photoshop, are superb tools for anyone to use. But, the fact that these tools are proprietary can be useful for commercial projects but learning in open source is better option as for leaning you spend less. It’s not the price of the software that makes the real difference although that’s one reason to migrate from one software to another for many people, it’s the idea that proprietary software comes with boundaries that keeps the user experience confined to well, being the user. That’s enough to drive any developer crazy .The following proprietary software programs are listed in broad categories along with their open source alternatives. Operating Systems & Web Browsers: Windows 10 to Ubuntu:Centos: Debian: Fedora : This is Microsoft’s operating system (OS), Open source OS alternatives are numerous; but these OS often are difficult for the average user to install, learn, and operate. Why deal with it when Ubuntu has become so easy to use that even the most computer illiterate can jump into this operating system with very little time spent on a learning curve? .Internet Explorer to Firefox: Sure, both programs are free; but that’s true of IE only because it comes pre-packaged with Microsoft’s Windows operating systems. Free is far different from open source software, where users have more control over how that software works. While you might feel more comfortable with a proprietary operating system, you can still use an open source browser like Mozilla’s Firefox, an exceptional product that expands its use with ‘add-ons‘ created by avid users.Office Suites: Microsoft Office to OpenOffice: LibreOffice If the price makes you feel that Microsoft has worked you over, then switch. If you compare Microsoft’s Office with other products, then you’re looking for something that includes an email client, a word processor, a spreadsheet tool, and a multimedia presentation application. The only product that provides a competitive edge against Microsoft is Google Drive, which when combined with Gmail, includes all the tools that Microsoft Office offers.

Office Tools: MathWorks MATLAB to Scilab: MATLAB is a highly used application for numerical computing. It provides a programming language that allows users to work with numbers in any possible way imaginable through visualization. Scilab is the open source alternative to MATLAB, and it provides visualization of numerical data just as MATLAB does. Scilab is partly compatible with MATLAB, and both tools are suited for Windows, Linux, and UNIX. Microsoft Access to Kexi: Microsoft Access is a versatile tool for creating database-driven applications and to maintain office or personal data. Access contains an embedded database engine, but it also connects to other databases through ODBC. On the other hand, Kexi allows users to design forms to gain access to and to create data, just like Access. Kexi also contains an embedded database engine and it can import data to Microsoft Access databases. Plus, Kexi is open source, whereas Access belongs to Microsoft.Microsoft Word to OpenOffice Writer: If you want to break that office suite down and begin to replace the suite item by item, then you can start with this product first. Writer is the word processor component of the OpenOffice.org software package that is similar to Microsoft Word, and with a roughly equivalent range of features. Writer can be used across a variety of platforms, including Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, Linux, FreeBSD and Solaris. Writer also includes the ability to export Portable Document Format (PDF) files with no additional software, and can also function as a WYSIWYG editor for creating and editing web pages. One plus over Word is that Writer carries functions and number formats in its tables from Calc, OpenOffice’s spreadsheet application.Microsoft Excel to OpenOffice Calc: Another Microsoft product, Excel still carries its productivity pluses as a spreadsheet, but it no longer carries an air of absolute necessity. Google’s Docs can bring an online, sharing atmosphere to your spreadsheets now. As for a truly open source product that can replace Excel, try OpenOffice.org Calc. This tool provides full spreadsheet functionality incl. a huge number of statistical and scientific functions, pivot tables and charts.Microsoft Visio to Dia: Visio actually is a great application that allows users to go from complicated text and tables that are hard to understand to diagrams that communicate information at a glance. The only thing that spoils the context is the fact that this software is that it’s not open source. Instead, use Dia, a GTK+ based diagram creation program for Linux, Unix and Windows released under the GPL license. Dia was ‘roughly’ inspired by Visio, which should make this tool easy for transition.

INDIAN SCHOOLS NEED TO ADOPT SUGAR LEARNING PLATFORM “SUGAR IS AN ACTIVITY-FOCUSED, OPEN-SOURCE SOFTWARE FOR CHILDREN”
by Admin User - Thursday, 7 October 2021, 02:09 PM

By : M.S.Yatnatti Editor and Video Journalist Bengaluru : Expert believe that we need to teach Keyboarding to all students .Typewriting skills make use of computers easy and students can do coding fast. One of the activity in Sugar Learning Environment is typing skills . According to reports if we do not introduce Coding in schools, then our children will be at a huge disadvantage and the future would be precarious. Indian schools need to adopt the Sugar on a Stick developed by sugarlabs.org is a compressed version of Fedora 32 that is created specifically for children as an alternative to the office style desktop. Sugar is essentially a learning platform that promotes collaborative learning through activities that encourage critical thinking. Sugar is currently being used daily in an educational environment by over 30 million children worldwide and is available in 25 languages. Coding is about much more than teaching technology. It incorporates logic, problem-solving, and creativity in an engaging way for children of all ages. Now the question is how we prepare our kids for the future, there is only one answer to that question is “Coding”.
